Here’s 5 (free) things you can do to help spread your portfolio across the web.
Poster Showcase
Posted in Blog, inspiration by gicreative | Tags: advertising, from paris with love, ignition print, inspiration, onesheet, Posters, Print, teaserNot to be confused with the 1963 Bond film, todays poster is not a sequel or re-imagining of TO RUSSIA WITH LOVE, it’s from the new John Travolta action flick, FROM PARIS WITH LOVE. Designed by the team over at Ignition Print, the teaser poster is the one I’m the most taken with. The studio has since released a few (Sub-par) alternate designs, but they’re your typical looking one sheets.
This version keeps it simple and combines two elements to create a striking image. Surely intentional, it reminds me of some of the classic Bond posters from the 60s and 70s. The film centers on a young employee in the office of the US Ambassador hooks up with an American spy looking to stop a terrorist attack in the city. Not the most original concept in the book, but at least they have a killer looking teaser poster. The film does look to have a few silver linings: First, it’s based on a story by Luc Besson. Second, it’s directed by Pierre Morel (Taken) - so there may be hope for it yet. FROM PARIS WITH LOVE is due in theaters February 5, 2010.

First place went to Angela Kohler and her ad “Kindlicious.” After the initial disappointment of not being named a winner, I’m definitely truly excited that we were named as a finalist and that we just missed the top spot. I’ve added the spot to the Reel section of the site, so if you haven’t seen it, you can head over and check it out. You can also shoot over to Amazon’s site to check out all the finalist videos.
